Projected GDP Growth in the next 5 years

Between 2026 and 2030, the global economic engine is projected to be increasingly concentrated, with just three nations—China, the United States, and India—expected to contribute nearly half (49.7%) of all total GDP added. China leads the absolute growth rankings with a projected expansion of $5.7 trillion, followed closely by the U.S. at $5.0 trillion and India at $2.1 trillion. While advanced economies like the UK, Germany, and Japan remain in the top ten for absolute contributions, the growth landscape is shifting toward emerging markets; notably, India is the only major economy to rank in the top ten for both absolute dollar gains and percentage growth (47.1% over the period).

Despite these massive gains by economic heavyweights, the highest growth rates are found in smaller frontiers. Suriname is projected to add $6.7 billion to its economy, expanding from a $4.9 billion base in 2026—an increase of roughly 137%. Malawi is expected to grow by $13.5 billion on a $17.9 billion base, marking a gain of about 75%. Ethiopia will add $92.2 billion to its $125.7 billion economy, a rise of approximately 73%.
